Aka Square

Aka Square, the main city square, is a large clearing decorated with strung-up paper lanterns and ornate golden statues, mostly of animals. This place is usually busy, especially during festivals, when confetti and streamers rain down. The architecture is the oldest here, beautiful to stare at and so unlike Broadripple. Though people wearing such clothing are common throughout the city, kimonos, hakanas, and other traditional garb are most concentrated here.

Raised walkways, sidled with crimson banisters, give a better look at the quaint, ancient architecture. In the middle of it all is a drum, high above ground level, and a large cluster of quiet shrines sit at the far end.
